The Tarot of Trees invites you to enter a forest devoid of human faces and voices, but filled with life, movement, growth, decay, and rebirth. The trees—ancient guardians of time, whose stories resonate with human destiny—are the protagonists.

The deck was created by Dana Driscoll, transforming the classic Tarot system into an unusual natural narrative. The artist deliberately abandoned the familiar human characters, replacing them with trees that experience joy and trials, blossom, face storms, lose their leaves, age, and once again give birth to new life.

There is a special beauty in this approach. The tree cannot speak, but its language is understandable to everyone: the roots speak of the past, the trunk of inner strength, the branches of aspiration for the future, and the leaves of the fleeting present. Thus, familiar Tarot archetypes take on a natural form and begin to be perceived not as abstract concepts, but as the natural processes of life itself.

The Tarot of Trees is built on the Rider-Waite tradition, so the deck's structure remains familiar to experienced tarot readers. It contains 78 cards, including fully illustrated Minor Arcana. The artistic interpretation is so distinctive that each image offers a completely different perspective on a familiar Arcana.

The Major Arcana evolves into a unique story of a tree as it navigates its life's journey. It emerges, grows, gains strength, endures changing weather, faces destruction, and emerges into a new state. Here, the deck's central message is particularly clear: life does not stand still, and even the most difficult period is just one part of a larger natural cycle.

The Minor Arcana continues this story through the four traditional suits—Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles. In each, nature becomes the primary vehicle for understanding the human condition. Fire, water, air, and earth are felt not simply as symbolic elements, but as forces constantly interacting with one another.

An interesting feature of the deck is the correspondence of the suits to the seasons: Wands are associated with summer, Cups with spring, Swords with autumn, and Pentacles with winter. This adds another layer of reading to the spread: the cards can be understood through the rhythm of nature, where awakening gives way to blossoming, maturity, and a period of rest.

Some Arcana have been given a particularly original interpretation. For example, the traditional Hanged Man is represented here as a Reversed Tree, with Strength occupying the 8th position, while Justice occupies the 11th position, which follows the Waite tradition of numbering these two Arcana.

It is precisely the absence of people that makes the Tarot of Trees particularly unusual. When there is no face, gesture, or human figure on the card to project emotion onto, the gaze is drawn to the process itself: how the tree grows, where its branches are directed, what happens to its roots, and how it experiences the world around it.

This feature is perfect for intuitive reading. Sometimes one card evokes a sense of calm, another anxiety, a third reminds us to stop, and a fourth speaks of long-awaited growth. Unusual natural imagery frees us from habitual associations and allows us to see the situation with fresh eyes.

The Tarot of Trees is particularly well-researched when it comes to questions about the unfolding of events, life changes, relationships, inner growth, choice, overcoming difficulties, and the future. Trees understand time better than humans: they don't try to force spring or resist the arrival of winter. They simply go through their cycle—and this wisdom is felt in many of the deck's cards.

The deck's visuals combine watercolor, acrylic, and ink, creating vibrant, decorative, and slightly fairytale-like images. The natural scenes aren't limited to strict realism: they include fantasy elements, but the core of their meaning remains the observation of the real world of trees.

At the same time, the deck doesn't seem at all divorced from traditional Tarot. On the contrary, its images convey the mood of the Arcana with remarkable precision. Here, you don't need to look for a typical person on the card—it's enough to see the tree's state, its surroundings, and what's happening around it. This way, classic meanings become more natural and organic.

The Tarot of Trees is an excellent choice for those who love nature, trees, natural symbolism, unusual artistic decks, and calm, intuitive divination. This Tarot is for those who appreciate the idea that answers are sometimes found not in complex words, but in simple natural patterns.

Before you is a forest, where each card is a separate tree, and the entire spread becomes a living story. Here you can see where life is just beginning to awaken, where the time has come for blossoming, where it's time to weather the storm, and where the old is already receding, making way for the new.
